Scrapin'
'Cause it can get pretty dark if you don't...
"Scrape the Dark Off"
America...
We’re choking on comfort.
Sofas swallowing spines,
thumbs swiping screens,
eyes glued to strangers in sequins,
pretending that fame is the same as worth.
We throw food away like we can eat tomorrow’s air.
We burn through water like the seas are on tap forever.
We waste time
our most precious,
most finite currency
on gossip that can’t feed a single soul.
We flinch at inconvenience
like it’s a mortal wound.
We’ve traded grit for gripes,
action for hashtags,
neighbors for noise.
But here’s the truth in the mirror —
wipe the fog, scrape the dark off the glass:
It’s not about them fixing it.
It’s about us.
All of us.
Every single one.
Because no empire survives its own apathy.
Because a country isn’t a flag or a song —
it’s the hands that build,
the voices that speak,
the backs that bend for one another.
We can thrive.
We could thrive.
But only if we stand up,
look each other in the eye,
and remember —
we were meant to be more than spectators
Be a Revolutionary, then.
